I tried downloading the free trial versions of a couple of paid product key finders. It says that the software suspension was completed correctly, but then the next time I open Photoshop, nothing has changed, it doesn't prompt me to re-activate, and the deactivation/suspension option is still available to me. I did also try suspending my current installation, in case it was not accepting the serial number because it was active on more than one computer, but.

but then when I tried to actually use the software, it asked me for a serial number AGAIN and wouldn't accept the exact same number. To my delight, it accepted the serial number Belarc found during installation.

So I tried uninstalling CS5 MC and installed a standalone copy of Photoshop CS5. I tried using this number to activate the copy of CS5 Master Collection I had installed on my new computer, with no luck. It's different from the two serial numbers I was able to pull from the registry, and it doesn't match the one that shows in Photoshop's System Information window, either. Using Belarc Advisor pulled out only one Adobe serial number: for Photoshop CS5 Extended (Trial). Thank you for the reply! I've been trying to work through with this guide, but it's still not working. I don't care that CS5 is old, it does what I need it to do and I don't want to lose access to all my WIP files because Adobe is trying to force everyone to go to a subscription model.

As best I can tell, I have the right software, so I don't think it's a software mismatch. I really just need Photoshop, but everything I've seen has said to install CS5 programs through the overall CS5 installer. I haven't (and won't) uninstall CS5 from my current PC until I am 100% certain it's working on my new PC, so I can go digging into those files for information or proof of ownership if needed. In both cases I get a yellow triangle exclamation mark symbol and the message "This serial number is not valid for this product."įrom what I have read online, it seems like Adobe has taken down the registration validation servers for CS5? Is there any way to get my new installation to recognize the validity of my serial numbers? I found a download of the software online and installed it as a trial, and I found not one, but two different serial numbers by digging into the files on my current computer. Now, I am trying to move my installation to a new Windows laptop, but I am having trouble getting the software to accept my serial number. He installed it for me and the registration is tied to his name and email - but he and I are no longer in communication. About eight years ago, my now-ex-husband purchased me a copy of Adobe CS5 Master Collection as a gift.
